Early counting works best when fingers are involved. Every page in this pack gives little hands three jobs: touch and count the shapes, color the great big outline number, and trace the number word at the bottom. One warm sun. Two hearts. Ten butterflies. By the end, ten has a story.
What’s inside (11 pages)
- A friendly cover with the how-to and all ten numbers at a glance.
- Ten number pages, one each for 1 through 10. Each page has a big colorable outline numeral, the matching count of shapes (stars, apples, balloons, fish, butterflies and friends), and the number word to trace.
The touch-and-count trick
When a child touches each shape while counting out loud, the number stops being a song and starts being a quantity. That is the whole game at this age. Let them stop at 5 if 10 feels far away, and let them color the six balloons six different colors, because obviously.
For counters ready for bigger territory, our free hundreds chart is the natural next step, games included.
One sun, two hearts, three wishes. Happy counting. 🖍️
