Kind Street Library is a small, family-run business. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we only email you the things you asked for. Here's exactly how it works.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, when you sign up for a free resource (like our Five-Day Starter Pack) or join our email list.
- Basic, anonymous usage data (such as which pages are visited), collected by our hosting and analytics tools to help us improve the site. This is not tied to your name.
- Analytics and advertising cookies: seeCookies, analytics & advertisingbelow. Where your region requires it, these only run after you say yes in our cookie banner, and you can change your mind anytime.
We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Our products are made for kids, but our website and email list are intended for parents, teachers, and other adults.
When you buy on this site
US families can pay by card here instead of on Etsy. When you do, this is what we keep and why:
- Your email address, the country you chose, and the billing country Stripe confirmed, so we can deliver your files, send your receipt, and check that direct checkout is only used where we offer it.
- Your order: what you bought, the amount, the date, Stripe's payment reference, and any refund or dispute on it. We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually seven years.
- Download activity: when a download link for your order was used, so we can spot a leaked link and help you recover access.
- Never your card number. Stripe handles the payment on its own pages; we only receive confirmation and the last details needed for the receipt.
Receipts, download links and recovery emails are transactional: they go out even if you have unsubscribed from our newsletter, because they are part of the purchase itself. Our checkout, download and recovery pages carry no analytics or advertising tags. Purchases on Etsy are covered by Etsy's privacy policy, and Etsy shares only what it needs to with us to fulfil your order.
How we use it
- To send you the free resource you requested.
- To send occasional emails with new unit studies, printables, blog posts, and encouragement for your homeschool, only if you've opted in.
- To understand what families find helpful so we can make better materials.
Who helps us run things
We use a few trusted services to operate the site and our email list. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: securely stores email-list signups and, for direct purchases, your order record and the paid files you download.
- Stripe: takes your card payment when you buy on this site. Card numbers go to Stripe, never to us. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend: delivers our emails, including receipts and download links.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Google: analytics (Google Analytics 4) and, if we run ads, Google Ads. See the cookies section below.
- Meta (Facebook & Instagram): measures signups and helps us show our books to interested families on Facebook and Instagram. See the cookies section below.
- Pinterest: measures how well our Pinterest content works. See the cookies section below.
Cookies, analytics & advertising
Like most websites, we use a few cookies and similar tools to understand our traffic and to reach families who might love our books. In regions that require consent (like the EU and UK), none of this runs until you say yes in our cookie banner, and everywhere, you can change your choices anytime via theCookie preferences link in the footer. Here's the honest list:
- Google Analytics 4: counts visits, traffic sources, and which pages get read, so we know what to make more of. We also use this data to build advertising audiences in Google Ads (for example, "people who visited a unit study page"). Opt out viaGoogle Ads Settings.
- Meta Pixel & Conversions API: measures when a visit turns into a signup or a click to our Etsy shop, and lets us show our books to interested families on Facebook and Instagram. Manage this in yourFacebook ad preferences.
- Pinterest Tag & API: measures how well our Pinterest content works. Opt out of interest-based ads in yourPinterest privacy settings.
One more honest detail: when you sign up for our email list, we share ahashed (scrambled, never plain-text) version of your email with Pinterest and Meta so they can count the signup accurately. We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any email, or visit our unsubscribe page.
- Ask us to delete your information: just emailinfo@kindstreetlibrary.comand we'll remove you from our records.
- Change your cookie choices anytime via theCookie preferenceslink (also in the footer of every page).
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be shared with our email list.
